The Awards Ceremony

Nicknamed the “Academy Awards of Beer” this event is both a raucous reunion of brewers and beer lovers and a notable celebration of outstanding beers and breweries in over 29 categories.

Winners are announced during a celebratory ceremony, where an OBA Hall of Fame induction also occurs. With the exception of a virtual event in 2021, the ceremony has been held every year at Revolution Hall to a sold out crowd - and live streamed for breweries across the state. More than 1,000 beer industry professionals and connoisseur consumers gather for an electric night.

Each year at the Awards Ceremony, in addition to recognizing breweries for the best beers in the state, the Academy (made up of a beer connoisseurs, writers, brewers and professionals in the beer industry) votes and recognizes the “Best” in other categories including Best Bottleshop, Best Beer Bar or Taphouse, Best Brewpub Experience, Best New Brewery, Best Branding/Labels, Craft Advocate of the Year, Brewery of the Year (Small, Medium and Large Sizes)

“I've never really known how to communicate to non-Oregonians what Oregon beer is – why Widmer Hefeweizen, The Commons Urban Farmhouse, and Breakside IPA are all indicative of it – but now I don't need to; they can just look at the winners of the OBA.”
– Jeff Alworth, Author, The Beer Bible

The Oregon Beer Awards have been a great opportunity for us to be a part of the amazing Oregon craft beer community. It has a fun, lighthearted atmosphere and is a blast to be a part of the excitement each and every year!
